Scholarships Awarded Total $588,700

The Jasper Foundation, Inc. and the Newton County Community Foundation support education as a lifelong pursuit. Through the generosity of their contributors, the Foundations have been able to provide financial assistance to many young people in Jasper and Newton counties seeking a post-secondary education. The winners represent both Jasper County and Newton County.

Scholarships are awarded by a separate advisory committee, either designated by the donor or Foundation committee. Selections are based upon established criteria and guidelines.

High school seniors applying for a scholarship must complete the application forms available for each scholarship. Most applications are available from the guidance counselors at the local high schools. If a particular application is not available please contact the Foundation office for assistance. All scholarship applications must be completed and turned in either to their school or the Foundation office by the deadline date.

Currently enrolled college students must complete the proper application form for the particular scholarship they are interested in. All scholarship applications must be completed and turned into the Foundation office by the deadline date.

Certain scholarships will require additional financial information from the student. Many times the information is brought to the interview before final selections are made.

Grace Pampel Education Scholarships: Grace Pampel Education Scholarships are designated for students planning careers in agriculture, fine arts and music, or nursing. You can now apply for the Grace Pampel Education Scholarship for 2008. There are two formats available. Use the Word file version to fill the application in with your word processing software; use the PDF file to print the application and fill it in by hand or with a typewriter.

Lilly Scholarships: You can now apply for the Lilly Community Scholarship for 2008. Download the application for your county below. There are two formats available for each. Johnson Scholarships: Jasper and Newton County students can compete for the Dr. Cecil and Mrs. Gladys Johnson Scholarships.
